Well, I finally did it. Something I said I'd never do…………………. I set up a myspace page. The straw that broke the camel's back was finding out that there's a fellow already up there with my name JOE TOOLE. Fuck. I've been scooped!

The only reason I created an acct. is so that I could read what is written in his posts. Not much.

Amazingly, as soon as I signed up, I was 'awarded' with a new friend! Holy hell, I must be a real popular individual. Seems that folks are just dying to be my friend -even before they know anything about me!

I used to get a chuckle outta this site, thinking that there are some pretty weird people out there. Then I discovered myspace. Holy shit! My eyes!!!! Talk about bad design, bad taste, dizzying new heights of stupidity, shitty lives, horrible music, ugly ass people………. and that's just the ads!!!!

Myspace leaves itself open to all kinds of nefarious abuse. I mean, anyone can have a page there. I guess it's just playing to the fact that everybody wants to be famous, and everybody wants something for nothing.

I'll tell you this tho…….. it's not something for nothing. You've gotta wade through all kinds of mind-numbing horseshit to find anything worth looking at. Kinda like the real world I guess…….

So, having said that, I'm gonna set up a 'bogus' myspace acct. just to see what kind of shit sticks to it.

Last book read: ELECTRIC UNIVERSE by David Bodanis. I'm a sucker for historical science/technology. This is one of the best I have read in a while.

Last cd listened to: The Stanley Brothers 'THE COMPLETE COLUMBIA STANLEY BROTHERS' I play along to this one regularly.

Like the title says, I HATE band bios. I had to put something up on the website, 'cause that's what your supposed to do so that people can pigeon hole you. What am I gonna say anyway? That we're a great band? That we're all fantastic musicians that you should hear? That our music is gonna change your life? ………hardly……… We're doing something that we like a lot, that we planted and watered with many years of musical experiences.

Jerome and I have a long rich history together having played in a band called the Phantoms for many years. We had a fair amount of success for a while there, and made a couple of cds whilst playing just about any place that would have us.

Alec…… well what can I say? Everybody wants to play with Alec, and for good reasons. He's probably one of the most musical guys I've ever met. Great ears. Plus, he has a van!!!! The first time I can ever recall meeting him was at Grossmans Tavern back in the early '80s. He was playing his Fender bass right on top of the frets to get a deader string bass sound. Cool.

So here we are, some twenty years later, a little uglier, fatter, and arguably wiser, playing music together. I still haven't decided whether I'm gonna play standing up or sitting down. That should tell you something.

I wanted to have a blog on this site so as to keep folks informed of our comings/goings/bullshit. I could have started a mailing list (I still may) but generally those things seem like so much spam. I wanted something a little more personalized, so I figured that a blog would do…

Soon enough we'll have Alec and Jerome chiming in. Hopefully we'll be able to keep from arguing w/eachother on our own blog…….
